For some of you horrid 90s babies that might not know who Wendy Day is, she’s been a revolutionary in this business we call the ‘music industry’ for years. She’s helped work deals for some of your favorite artists, and she’s gonna be here to listen to YOUR music. I hope you all feel blessed, because you should. Wendy NEVER does reviews on music, but she’s here to do that today out of the goodness of her heart, and for her love of music. Here’s a little about her, in her words, which we (and MANY others agree):
I help artists make money with their music. I bring structure and organization to artists who have the proper funding to put out their own music and then my team and I help monetize their efforts so they can make a living doing what they love: rap! I implement marketing plans and budgets to build the awareness and increase the fan bases of my clients, regionally, with a focus on helping them make money. We help artists build a buzz and set up their own labels from A to Z. The goal is to build success through staying independent, or sign to a major label in a leveraged deal that gives the artist control and ownership. We look for artists with talent, the proper funding (a healthy budget is key), and who are willing to outwork everyone else–they must possess all 3 things to catch my interest. My clients combined have sold over a billion records, and we build millionaires!
I put my 22 years of experience into a book so artists would understand what it takes to catch the attention of a record label. That book is The Knowledge To Succeed: How To Get A Record Deal and it is available digitally at Amazon ( http://ow.ly/6KKi3 ) and iTunes ( http://ht.ly/6PC0O ).
I’ve been fortunate to help build the careers of Eminem, Master P and No Limit Records, C-Murder, Twista, Fiend, Do Or Die, David Banner, Boosie, Webbie, Cash Money Records (BG, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Turk, Hot Boyz, and Big Tymers), Trouble from DuctTape, O.Z., and Dee Day.
