Post: Finding Your Inner Strength While Trying To Conceive

Start talking to the ladies in your life and you’re going to soon find out that a lot more of them will have experience of the troubles that come with trying to conceive than you might have previously realized. It’s a struggle that a lot of women have been through, and many of them find themselves developing a new kind of strength in order to cope with the disappointments and setbacks on the way to the success they’re looking for. If you feel like you could use a little bit of that inner strength and positivity, here are a few ways you might be able to do it.

Keep your health in mind

Your health, be it physical, mental, or emotional, should be your number one priority. For one, taking better care of yourself by making sure you’re getting the nutrition that you need, as well as strengthening your body through exercise, are both going to help you increase your chances of conceiving. What’s more, your mental health is going to naturally suffer if you’re not taking care of your body, as well as taking the time to practice good mental health habits such as meditating and finding the time to “check in” on yourself.

Learn to take and move on from the negative

When you’ve been trying to conceive for quite some time, the bad news of a negative pregnancy test can start to feel demoralizing. If you’re not able to deal with them effectively, the toll of each month can feel a little heavier than the last, especially if you can’t conceive within that first year. You need to get rid of negative thinking, such as comparing yourself to other women in your life. Seriously consider the language you use when you talk about your journey and try to remove any that has negative connotations around failure, struggle, and so on.

Find your ways of dealing with stress

While it might just sound like another tip geared towards your emotional and mental health, finding your stress relief is just as vital for your body. After all, stress has physical effects, as well, such as releasing the stress hormone cortisol that can affect your body wildly, from making your muscles tighter to adjusting your pH level without you feeling a thing. Meditation is one stress relief measure already mentioned, but you might be able to find your own, whether it’s exercising, engaging in creative hobbies, or even something as simple as getting away from the home for an hour.

Use the power of positivity

Just as you should be attempting to quell the negativity from your life, you should also be thinking about what you can do to increase the level and frequency of positive thinking in your life, as well. One of the best ways to do that is to learn about manifesting pregnancy techniques. A lot of people think about manifestation as “making demands” of the universe and expecting the universe to cater to you. However, it’s a more open and reciprocal relationship than that, involving making yourself open to the possibilities and putting out the kind of good, positive energy that you’re trying to get back, too.

Making trying fun

A lot of people have the idea that, sure, sex is fun, so trying to have a baby is going to be fun no matter what, right? However, if you start getting a little too regimental, a little too dedicated to making it happen no matter what, the whole affair can become a little stressful and even dull for both of you. Take the time to date each other and make sure that romance is always a part of the process.

Don’t be afraid to seek support

Some women feel like if they “have” to seek support, then they are admitting to themselves that there is a problem. However, a lot of women can use a little help here and there, and it can make truly beneficial differences in the kind of outcomes they experience. Look to fertility support groups that can offer not just advice but sometimes resources to help you get treatments that can increase your chances of conceiving. It can offer an extra bit of hope, not to mention emotional support for getting over the tough times. Don’t forget to reach out to your local OB/GYN or pregnancy clinic if you have any questions, as they can give you the support you need if you are worried.

The tips above can’t guarantee a pregnancy or anything like that. They can, however, help you stay in the right mindset and be ready for the baby that you’re trying to conceive, so try to keep them in mind on your way to growing your family.
