Alfonso Lugo – Loca

Alfonso Lugo mixes wealth of recording industry talents to deliver fresh new music

LOS ANGELES, CA – Alfonso Lugo is rarely outside of a recording studio. As an established singer, guitarist, composer, jingle writer, voiceover talent and music producer, Alfonso has the full skill set to bring topnotch audio projects to his audience. His single “Loca,” scheduled for launch on August 29, marks a new beginning born from experience and collaboration. After extensive research in Mexico and Los Angeles, Alfonso and his team carefully crafted a real gem. With its catchy, captivating beat, and sing-along refrain, “Loca” is guaranteed to be a massive hit.

Alfonso joined forces with a pair of successful songwriters from Malaysia and renowned co-producer Mario Marchetti (Jennifer Lopez, Black Eyed Peas, Nick Carter, Demi Lovato) to bring out “Loca” after warming up his listeners with several singles and YouTube videos. A pop piece with Latin foundations and a Mediterranean vibe, “Loca” transports you to a sunny beach where you’re sipping cocktails and dancing to the music.

While the lyrics of most Spanish urban music tend to be disrespectful towards women, Alfonso takes a fresh approach. He intentionally places women on a pedestal, treating them as goddesses. “Yes, I talk about sexuality and sensuality, and everything involved there, but in a very respectful way,” said Alfonso. “I want to raise the level of how we treat women in songs nowadays.”

A native Spanish speaker, Alfonso is the voice of several big brands in Mexico and the US. In Mexico, he worked with famous Mexican voiceover host Charo Fernández at Televisa Radio and on a weekly transmitted Mexican government cultural program. While working as a voiceover talent, music producer and manager of four recording studios, he was in the studio all the time, connecting with creative and advertising agencies. The development of Alfonso’s music career happened naturally.

He never stopped making music. Between 2003 and 2012, Alfonso gained international recognition with three solo albums (“Homónimo,” “Sol Naciente,” “Sometimes (All I Want is You)”) and one duet with Blue Detox (“Beautiful Soul”).

Three and a half years ago, Alfonso made the move to Los Angeles to launch himself as a professional artist with the goal of touring internationally. In LA, he is surrounded by great producers and writers, and has the opportunity to work with international artists such as the winner of The Voice of Poland, Marta Gałuszewska. Alfonso, along with an artist he produces, collaborated with Marta on songwriting while she was in town.

Alfonso stays busy. He recently collaborated with Mexican actress Regina Blandón on “Gravedad,” a song featured in the movie “Mirreyes contra Godínez.” Following on the success of having his song featured in one of Mexico’s biggest box office movies, Alfonso will release “Loca” near the end of August. Afterwards, he plans to release a string of singles with an EP dropping at the end of this year. As a music producer, he works with a few American artists whose projects will launch in 2020.

Alfonso passionately believes that the world needs love. For the YouTube video of his single, “Bésame” (Kiss Me), he asked fans and colleagues to send footages of them kissing loved ones – including pets! He put the clips together to create a beautiful video showing love which helps to spread his message: “The world needs more kisses and love and hugs!”
