Blog: 10 Artists To Watch in 2015

raz-simone

OK so as most of you know, I do this list every year, highlighting some artists whom I feel have a good shot at making a lot of noise in the new year. There were several that I wanted to include that I had to leave off, but that’s just how it goes sometimes. All of these artists listed were consistently on the grind all year, and if they keep it going, we’ll be seeing them doing big things in 2015. So here ya go, hit the jump.

Clay James

Clay’s been grinding hard all year, and it shows because his name has truly grown. Coming out of Atlanta, Clay James is one of the few that’s carrying that good ole classic southern sound. His style, and look are catchy, and when he starts rapping he makes you wanna pay attention. He’s made a name for himself in 2014, and I believe 2015 will be big for him as long as the grind continues.

Mantiz

I’m not just saying this because he’s my artist…listen to me when I tell you, Tiz got next. South Carolina is an extremely rough state to break out of, but his music has spread across the US in the last year, earning him a solid fan base from Atlanta, to Chicago and Houston. His latest single, “She Say” covered the net, and is now breaking on radio. The best is yet to come for Mantiz.

Onehunnidt

Houston standout artist Onehunnidt had a pretty dope year, filled with tons of performances in and outside of his native city, and breaking two singles on the radio. He was also featured on our “The Arrival 3” project, and received lots of positive feedback. The work he put in this year will definitely carry him into 2015 on a high note.

Palermo Stone

I’ve recently come to learn that Pittsburgh has a pretty dope hip hop fan base, and Palermo Stone has become one of the fan favorites in the city. His project “The 2nd Coming” garnered a lot of attention, which led to performances, features, and lots of attention. If he keeps his grind up, he should have a good 2015.

Duru Tha King

North Carolina native Duru Tha King had a great year, consisting of award nominations, breaking on big outlets, and earning an abundance of new fans. As an artist under Deniro Farrar (major label signed), I was afraid he’d get overlooked, but instead, his work ethic and unique sound individualized him as a force to be reckoned with.

Noah Vinson & Frank Ramz

So, I included these two together because they’re frequent collaborators. Noah and Frank are two that are keeping that good ole New York underground sound alive. The two have stayed consistent in their releases in the last year, garnering a nice buzz for themselves in the streets, and on the net. If they keep it up, they’ll be making some noise in 2015.

Adam Reverie

If any of you are familiar with me, then you know I loves me some Adam Reverie. Adam is the epitome of an artist; not a rapper, an artist. His unique and diverse sounds catch the attention of all who give him a real listen, and his strong lyrical abilities have earned him J Cole and Kendrick Lamar comparisons. Say what you want, but Adam can’t be denied. He took a small step back this past year, but ended strong. Going into 2015 his fan base has grown, and they await his next offering. As long as he stays at it, 2015 will belong to him.

Roc & Yella

The South Carolina duo have a way with the ladies, and the clubs. Hip hop isn’t always about lyricism, its also about contributing to the culture, and these two do that. With a strong and supportive team behind them, if they keep it up, they’ll be heard in clubs and on radio stations across in the country in 2015.

Tony Del FreshCo

Tony was one of my faves coming out of Houston this year. He embodies that classic Houston sound that so many of us love. He knows how to make a catchy single, and even has the makings of a productive executive. His latest project “Red October” continues to get downloaded months later on a daily basis, and his internet presence has grown greatly in the last year. I know Tony, and I know he’s a hustler. So as long as he keeps it up, 2015 should be lovely for him.

raz-simone

Raz Simone

Raz Simone is an artist I came across this year who’s out of Seattle, and I immediately became impressed with him and his work ethic. He’s lyrically gifted, and has a passion for what he does, which seeps out of him when you hear and see him. It’s very obvious he has a future in this, and as well as the others, as long as he stays working, it’ll be a good new year for him.
