K.A.L’s new single, “2:30”, is an ambient and spacious hookup anthem layered with trap drums and deep 808s. The single follows the sound of the new generation of R&B but stands out for its simplicity and smooth vocals.
Born in Greensboro, North Carolina and currently living back and forth between Charlotte and Atlanta, Kal Caviness aka K.A.L is a 19-year-old college student at UNC Chapel Hill with dreams far bigger than a business degree. Around the age of 16 he downloaded Logic on his computer and began learning the ins and outs of producing, mixing, engineering, and mastering. Once he bought a microphone, he knew it was time to actually create original music.
“2:30” is his first and most popular song to date. With a little over 5,000 streams across all platforms, the ambient late-night hookup anthem is still on the rise but has immense potential. While K.A.L loves creating spacey R&B music, his sound is very diverse, ranging from Hip Hop to Electro-Pop and dance music. K.A.L’s influences range from Drake, Bryson Tiller, and Russ to Kings of Leon and John Mayer.
His dream is to become a world renowned singer, songwriter and producer who changed the music industry for the better. He started an LLC called Invictus Entertainment which he hopes will become a successful and boundary-pushing record label for artists with extreme motivation and vision. A video for “2:30” is currently in the works and on schedule to be released this fall.
