Post: Why It’s So Hard To Be Healthy

Being healthy is something that society says that we should strive for. However, we’re getting conflicting messages. On the one hand, we’re being told to eat our greens and get plenty of exercise every day. But on the other hand, we have many brands encouraging us to do the opposite. What’s more, it takes a lot of energy to be healthy. You really have to believe in it.

In this post, we take a look at some of the reasons why it’s hard to be healthy and what you can do to make life a little easier.

Your Taste Buds Refuse To Change

Your taste buds won’t change just because you want them to. In fact, they can be rather stubborn, particularly if you keep drip-feeding them the food you love.

The trick here is to find substitutes: foods that “hit the spot” while also ensuring that you remain healthy at the same time. For instance, swapping in nut butters for unhealthy fats is a good idea. Using dates instead of sugar is another option. These foods are nature’s fats and sugars, making them much better for your body.

Your Health Problems Keep Coming Back

When you get sick, you go to the doctor and they provide medicine to bring you back to health. If it’s antibiotics, it usually works. However, infections can return.

Take UTIs, for instance. Many women resolve their initial infections, but then, a few months later, it comes back again.

The trick here is to take tablets for UTI conditions. These actually suppress the ability of bacteria to grow after an initial infection, reducing the need for antibiotics a second or third time in the future.

You Like Healthy Living, Just Not Every Day

If you want to be truly healthy, a healthy lifestyle has to be a part of your daily life. You can’t just opt out of it when you don’t feel like it.

But that’s precisely the problem. Most people don’t feel like living healthily every day. Instead they want to “go with the flow,” taking some days off.

The problem with these “off days” is that they can become a habit. The more of them you have, the more of them you want. Eventually, healthy days become the exception.

To avoid this problem, create a healthy living plan you can actually live with. Ease yourself into it, instead of initiating a hardcore plan from the outset. This way, you can make it tolerable and add to it as the weeks and months go by.

It’s Expensive

Many people wind up with unhealthy lifestyles because they tend to be less expensive than regular ones. It’s easy not to pay a gym membership subscription or buy lots of fresh produce every time you go shopping.

Because of this, it’s always a good idea to prepare yourself financially before you decide to go on a health kick. Remind yourself that it is an investment. If you treat your body well today, it will reward you in the future by working better.
