Geraldine Taylor seeks world record
with 16 languages in just one song
BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND – Geraldine Taylor is on the verge of getting a Guinness World Record.
The singer/songwriter from Birmingham in the United Kingdom has been a musician for many years, and one of her most recent singles – “Imagine” – is a song that is primed to earn her that world record. Why? Because she has 16 different languages featured in it.
The original song was written and sung entirely in English, and received high praises from fans and critics alike. She decided to sing the song in another language just to see how well it would play in a different part of the world. The response she received was phenomenal, and as the project evolved, she began to wonder what it would be like to include multiple languages on one track. The answer is “Imagine: World Remix” which features lyrics in Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, Serbian, Tagalog, Arabic, Indonesian, Zambian, Italian, Croatian, Russian, Bosnian, Urdu, Swahili and Thai.
“The song is about imagining if you could go beyond the shackles and chains and bonds of life that hold us back from our fullest potential,” Taylor said. “That’s a universal message. There are certain illusions in life – people think there are limitations to what they can and can’t achieve. The message is somewhat spiritual but mostly, it’s about enabling the listener to think outside the box and explore different possibilities in life.”
Taylor said the song takes on a laid-back, mid-tempo vibe that is perfect for someone to relax to – whether out on the beach or in the garden at home. The single is also a showcase for Taylor’s amazing poetry – something she’s been naturally gifted with since she was very young.
“My poetry connects to my life experiences and the experiences of things I see around me,” she said. “That’s not always pre-planned, either. I might be doing house work and have some lyrics pop into my head and I’ll sit down and have something written down five minutes later. Or I might be watching a film and be inspired to write a poem because of that story. Ultimately, I want my work to be known for uniting different groups of people because there is so much division in the world today. Think beyond the limitations you’ve conjured up for yourself and feel more connected through my music. I hope I can inspire positive change across the world.”
Taylor said “Imagine” is one of the many singles she currently has available, some of which are slated to release later this summer. She has also recently released an album called “Shining Starlight” which is available on all digital distribution sites.
